Welcome to the February 2024 issue
In 1961 Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley wrote an awesome musical called Stop The World I Want To Get Off. I think I know what they were getting at. The news ain’t great, the planet’s in a mess, everyone’s loads more broke than they were not too long ago… Sometimes it seems the only solution is to switch off, tune out and lose yourself in a world of your own.

Easier said than done, of course, but what works for me is to pull on the cans, pour a long one, close my eyes and sink into a transportive soundtrack of my choosing. Some of our more stylish readers will also be considering not only the aural quality of what they’re listening to, but how they look while they’re at it.

Hence this month’s Group Test where we’ve selected half a dozen great-sounding headphones which won’t necessitate taking out a second mortgage and which, to paraphrase Kendrick Lamar, gonna make you look sexy.
