Jadis brings PA70 power amplifier and JP7 preamp to UK
The PA70 incorporates eight valves: two ECC82s, two ECC83s and four KT170s – the latter delivering 50W of Class A power per channel. Although it’s possible to configure four KT170s to deliver even greater power, Jadis says its implementation prioritises extremely low distortion to maximise fidelity and make the most of the amp’s sonic ability.
Jadis explains: “A huge, newly designed power transformer delivers prodigious dynamic and pulse power. This enables the amp to work in a single push-pull, ultra-linear with triple-load configuration, utilising two auto-biased KT170 output valves per channel. Power supplies for the driver stage and power stage are entirely independent, ensuring dedicated, uncompromised power for each critical circuit.” Other details include point-to-point wiring and hand-made transformers. The price is £10,500.
Meanwhile the JP7 is Jadis’ most compact and affordable line-level preamp to date. Measuring 300 x 95 x 290mm (WxHxD), it incorporates three ECC83 valves, provides five line-level RCA inputs and includes a remote control. Tactile front-mounted controls include gold-plated volume, balance and source control knobs and a toggle switch for power. It’s priced at £4,800.
