Record Store Day tunes for June

As has been widely reported, largely due to COVID, there’s a bit of a backlog internationally at vinyl pressing plants – which has impacted on Record Store Day’s event on 23 April. To counter this there will be a follow-up RSD drop, so we’re adding to last month’s big list with a dozen choice releases which will now hit your local indie shop on Saturday 18 June.

Miles Davis: Live In Montreal, July 7, 1983

This double vinyl LP features a set Miles and his stellar band played at the Theatre St-Denis during the Festival International De Jazz De Montreal, released for the very first time. Later this year it will appear on CD and digitally, but for now the vinyl is the only way to wrap your ears around it. Including the popular tracks Hopscotch, Jean-Pierre, What It Is and That’s What Happened among others, it comes in a gatefold sleeve.

Dio: Double Dose Of Donington

This picture disc captures Ronnie’s band at the UK’s premier HM festival. Side A features Stand Up And Shout from 1983, while side B is Rock And Roll Children from four years later. 3Heartbreakers: The LAMF Demo Sessions What we have here is four demo sessions from Johnny Thunders and his band recorded in 1976 and 1977 compiled onto one LP pressed on transparent magenta vinyl with a 12in poster of the LAMF cover photo and an inner bag sporting an interview with guitarist Walter Lure.

Altered Images: The Return Of The Teenage Popstar

This four-track greatest hits EP from the Eighties Scots chart sensations is released just in time to coincide with a new tour and LP.

Billy Bragg: Life’s A Riot With Spy Vs Spy

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Double B’s debut LP, this one comes on glorious coloured vinyl.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer: Trilogy

Picture disc version in die-cut sleeve of the prog trio’s third LP, originally released in 1972.

The Farm: Groovy Train

A 140g coloured vinyl 12in reissue of the band’s second biggest hit, which comes with three special remixes.

Fatboy Slim: Praise You/Right Here Right Now Remixes

Remixes of a couple of Norman Cook’s dancefloor goodies courtesy of Purple Disco Machine and Camelphat, gathered together on vinyl for the first time with new artwork.

Keith Richards: Talk Is Cheap/Live At The Palladium

A proper rarity, this is a double cassette, specially created for RSD featuring the founding Stone’s debut solo album plus a live gig from the supporting tour.

The Kinks: Waterloo Sunset

This mono, remastered six-tracker comes on 12in yellow vinyl to mark the 55th anniversary of the classic hit single. The artwork is from the original 1967 French release.

Pearl Jam: Live On Two Legs

Sixteen tracks from the band’s 1998 US summer tour undertaken in support of the Yield LP. This is a vinyl double in a gatefold sleeve.

Prince: The Gold Experience Deluxe

When it first came out in 1995, TGE was Prince’s debut release under his unpronounceable symbol moniker. It features The Most Beautiful Girl In The World and Eye Hate U among other tracks and this version of the album is double pressed onto translucent gold vinyl with a bonus suite of Eye Hate U remixes on the fourth side.
