Pro-Ject launches 24-strong EVO tonearm range
The EVO CC tonearm comes with a stiff and light carbon fibre tube, available in 9in (£725), 10in (£775) or 12in (£825) lengths and uses ultra-low friction bearings with four stainless steel tips. It boasts a light one-piece conical carbon fibre tube and is internally wired with high-quality copper cabling and terminates into a 5-pin DIN tonearm cable connector. It rests in a heavy CNC-machined holder secured by a magnet locking system. Fine-tuning can be achieved thanks to the tonearm’s adjustable VTA and azimuth. It is supplied with two damped aluminium counterweights, suiting most cartridge weights. Additional weights are available.
The EVO CA Premium tonearm comes with an innovative carbon fibre and aluminium sandwich tube for increased effective mass and improved electrical isolation, available in 9in (£1,250), 10in (£1,300) or 12in (£1,350) lengths. It uses inverted Cardanic Swiss ABEC 7-quality bearings with four stainless steel tips and is mounted in a heavyweight stainless steel housing for added protection. The hybrid tonearm tube has a one-piece carbon fibre layer wrapped around an aluminium inner-tube, resulting in slightly higher effective mass than the standard CC version, improved damping and better electrical isolation. The EVO CA Premium is supplied with two damped stainless steel counterweights in the box, capable of finer setting adjustments, suiting most cartridge weights.
The EVO AS tonearm is a high-precision S-shape with special aluminium tubes and detachable headshell, available in 9in (£1,000), 10in (£1,050) or 12in (£1,100) effective lengths with the same internal wiring, anti-skate info, fine-tuning and counterweights as above.
The EVO AS Premium is the flagship model, also featuring an S-shape design, available in 9in (£1,550), 10in (£1,600) or 12in (£1,650) effective lengths. It uses inverted Cardanic Swiss ABEC 7-quality bearings with four stainless steel tips and the bearing is mounted in a heavyweight stainless steel housing for added security.
All the EVO tonearms are available with metal parts finished in matte-black. However, for an additional charge, buyers can upgrade to one of the high-gloss (HG) finishes. For £450 for the CC and CA models or £550 for the AS models, prospective users can upgrade to a hand-polished HG finish.
Pro-Ject turntables across the premium X-Line and RPM Line ranges feature EVO CC tonearms as standard. The new EVO tonearms mean customers can now choose to upgrade their new turntable purchase with a CA Premium, AS or AS Premium equivalent for the cost difference between their turntable’s standard tonearm and their selected tonearm upgrade. Henley Audio completes the installation before it sends out the deck, so there’s no manual work required on the customer’s part.
A similar upgrade is also open to all existing Pro-Ject turntable owners, who can trade-in their current 9in, 10in or 12in tonearm and save on a new, improved EVO replacement. Alternatively, users with non-Pro-Ject tonearms can also trade-in any other 9in, 10in or 12in arms and receive 30 percent off the SRP of their chosen EVO tonearm.
