Astell&Kern introduces AK UW100MKII true-wireless earbuds
The AK UW100MKII features an embedded 32-bit DAC and full-range Balanced Armature driver together with aptX Adaptive codec support and Passive Noise Isolation. The buds also feature a more advanced circuit design in a bid to ensure an improved connection that is more stable and to reduce distortion or excess noise. The optimised internal arrangement, including an adjustment of the BA driver and a redesigned acoustic chamber, is intended not only to elevate the overall sound quality of the earbuds, but also improve wireless play time.
The power system has been redesigned to increase wireless use to 9.5 hours of continuous playback with a total of 29 hours total playback using the accompanying charging case. While also reducing the size of the charging cradle, the AK UW100MKII claims an hour of continuous play time from only a 10-minute charge.
The AK UW100MKII supports Multi-Pairing and Multi-Point functions to let the user pair the earbuds with multiple devices at the same time while also switching connections to another mobile device. This allows the user to listen to songs played on their tablet or PC, for example, while actively allowing phone notifications and calls from another device – such as a smartphone.
The AK UW100MKII also features Google’s Fast Pair Service to automatically connect the earbuds to Android devices using Bluetooth Low Energy. By simply opening the cradle near an Android device, the earbuds enter pairing mode and allow the user to connect instantly. The buds are accompanied by an exclusive app to offer customisation for the listener. The app offers an adjustable 10-band EQ and also enables the listener to reconfigure the touch controls of the earbuds and change the ‘Ambient Mode’ levels.
